UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

My spiritual journey began as a teenager when I responded to an invitation at a revival service. I’ll never forget the sermon, “God’s Three Deadlines.” I was terrified! When the invitation was given I practically ran to the altar, joining all the others who felt the same way. As I think back to that evening many years ago, I wish my invitation would have been like the outcast women who met Jesus by a well.

Years later as I was reflecting on the turning points in my life, this thought came to mind; fear never transforms us and rarely ever changes us, but fear can redirect us. As I began to think about how differently that evening could have been if my response would have been motivated out of love instead of fear, I decided to recast my invitation. I pictured Jesus by the well—with love in his eyes and tenderness in his voice—offering me a drink of living water. Love changed everything!

Of all the words used to describe God’s love, nothing seems to compare to the lyrics of Frederick M. Lehman's hymn, “The Love of God.”

Could we with ink the ocean fill and were the skies of parchment made; were every stalk on earth a quill

and every man a scribe by trade; to write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry; nor could the

scroll contain the whole though stretched from sky to sky.

Trying to process those words alone is overwhelming enough but to walk along the beach at night, looking out across a velvet canvas held in place by over 200 billion trillion tiny white lights, with 82 billion gallons of water below, imagining almost 8 billion human beings employed as writers, dipping their quills made of anything that resembles a stalk on this planet into an endless pool of ink―draining the ocean dry and running out of canvas is completely overwhelming! Oh if we could get a glimpse of God’s love how it would change the world! The Gospel would once again echo the angel’s announcement, “Behold I bring you good news of great joy which shall be for all people.” Perfect Love has come!

When this portrait of love grips our hearts it just won’t let go! has been reduced to mere human standards… it simply can’t work and never has! This is truly An Indescribable Kingdom!

When deciding on a name for this website, I couldn’t think of anything more appropriate than An Indescribable Kingdom… and I couldn’t think of any other word that best describes this kingdom than Indescribable!
